COMPUTERS are part of our life. How would we manage without them?

Every school-age child is becoming computer literate and information technology is an everyday item.

But what is new in the computer world?

* Being able to tell the computer what you want it to do instead of using the keyboard.

* Household lighting and other electrical equipment controlled by the home computer.

There are also a number of modifications that are in the process of being developed which will benefit disabled people.

These include ergonomic keyboards that are split in two and `bent' in a certain way to allow your hands to rest in a more natural and comfortable way than normal keyboards.

There are input and output devices especially designed for disabled people such as palm-top computers that fit in the palm of your hand but are still very powerful computers.

There are touch screens that allow you to touch the screens with your finger to make choices from a menu on the screen.
